Day 11- Infection?

Em had visitors galore today. Maddie returned from a weekend of fun with her cousins. Meme, Auntie Jill and her cousin Sean brought her back and spent the day! Of course Emma wanted them to spend the night! Mima, Boppa and Amy were here as well and joined in the fun at the pool, playground, walks around the neighborhood, lunch and dinner. We had a little extra excitement this evening with a car crashing into a house a few doors down.
Em and I missed PT at Mandy's house but she got plenty of excercise today! We did get our pin cleaning done and washed her hair! However, my worst nightmare came true today (I think). I believe we have an infection at one of the pin site. I've been sick to my stomach all day and believe I'm officially a failure which will be determined tomorrow when we meet with a PA at Dr. Paley's office. We got her started on antibiotics this evening in anticipation of the bad news! I need to turn the struts here shortly and call it a day. Yours truly- Bad Dad.

  2. Don't be so hard on yourself Eric, you are doing everything you know how to make this go smoothly. There will be bumps in the road along the way (wish there weren't but that's life). You are doing a great job, hang in there, we are all cheering for Emma and her loving, caring, awesome Mom and Dad. Luv Auntie Pat

  4. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are one of the best dads we know. You and Em will do fine and the day will come you will look back at this and be glad you did it. We love reading the blog and follow Em's progress. You are in our prayers. Our love always, Uncle Leon and Kim

  5. Eric...with everything being said...I think you are a Great Dad! You have proved it in so many ways... You are more tortured about making sure that you do the right thing by your little Girl..than anything else. You already knew there is the possibility of infection..watched for it..and it's now being taken care of. That makes you a Great Dad! :) cf
