Day 37- Pizza Party

Friday 4/5/13

Mom took Maddie and Em this morning and left the Torando with Grammie and I. Mom dropped Maddie at school and then went to PT with Em. Em was reunited with Don and all was good- no competition he can't over come!

Teagan had a friend over for a few hours to play and relieve Grammie. T had a blast playing with Emily and had a special trip to Play Mobile for a little while. Special treat for T as she's the one that usually gets left behind and hates it! Thank you Emily!!!

Mom came back with Maddie and Em and picked me up to head to our appt. We saw Grace, Kevin and Mandy finishing up with their last appt. We caught up with them for a bit and made plans to catch up later on.

Em was called in to get her pictures taken (X-Rays) which she always looks forward to getting her sticker from June when she's done. Easy peasey! Then we were called to our room and a few minutes later Dr. Paley and Servando (Amanda's boyfriend) came in to give us our latest report- Everything's perfect!!! Dr. Paley asked how things were going, I gave him concern #1 and he replied "Everything's perfect". I laid out concern #2 and his reply was "Everything's perfect". I started with concern #3 and stopped myself and said "Everything's perfect so I shouldn't have any concerns". He said "exactly" and we moved on to talk about the day with the Donald, the tooth fairy (Maddie's got a loose tooth and need Dr. Paley's opinion) and all the other very important life changing happenings in our world! "Everything's perfect" means that we are at 23mm (just shy of 1 inch) of lengthening out of a total of 50mm and Em is showing new bone growth developing between the break. We are on schedule and with no concerns... "Everything's perfect"!

Amanda went and caught up with Jennifer and Caroline who are two of our favorites that make the world go round for us down here. Amanda getting the inside scoop on all the happenings, what to do, what to see, etc... We left happy and ready to celebrate as someone told us it was Friday!

We went home, picked up Teagan and headed to the Burke's for a pizza party!!! The girls were thrilled to catch up with Grace, Big Sis Sidney and Cousin Ciara! All was right in the world... except for the fact that we needed to end the night by saying "see ya later" to them as its time for them to move forward in their process. The girls had a wonderful night together playing hide n seek, dancing, gymnastics, hair braiding (Thank you Sidney!) and all the other stuff girls do!!! We had a bunch of laughs, a few tears and some more memories before getting the girls home to bed. When the celebration wears off, the OBrien's aren't going to know what do to with themselves and will miss the Burke family tremendously! They have been our guiding light since we arrived and couldn't possibly express our gratitude for all they have done- Thank you Gracie, Kevin and Mandy for everything and we wish you all the best! We enjoyed the time we shared together and look forward to walking through this life long adventure with you!

CHEERS!

  2. It's wonderful to hear that everything is perfect! While it's sad to say 'see ya later' to the Burkes and you will miss them, it may mean that it's your turn to shine and become the guiding light for another scared, confused family entering the program. You have gained so much knowledge as you've passed the milestones of your journey that you can now become those treasured new friends and guiding lights for someone else. Shine on O'Brien family. Sending my love, Auntie Pat

  8. I was curious if you ever considered changing the page layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to
say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect
with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
